My adventure began at JFK airport, holding a large purple sign that read Hanky Panky. I was on a mission: to host the winners of the “Win a Trip to NYC” contest. The contest was sponsored by Globus, a high-end European department store in conjunction with Hanky Panky.
I was a bit nervous prior to meeting the contest winners, Mr. and Mrs. Baumann, who were traveling all the way from Switzerland. I wasn’t sure if they would feel welcomed by my New York charm, being that they are proper Europeans, however they were surprisingly responsive. Although the Baumans are Swiss, they both have a diverse cultural heritage, much like many Americans and New Yorkers, including myself.
The couple was very warm and friendly and the cab ride back to the city gave us a chance to break the ice and learn more about one another. I learned that Mrs. Baumann has a cousin in Yonkers and was planning to visit this cousin on their trip but first she wanted to see Hanky Panky.
We arrived at the office and it was immediately time for the grand tour. The Baumanns got the chance to see the behind-the-scenes operations of Hanky Panky. The Baumanns won the contest as first-time Hanky Panky buyers, so they were not very familiar with the brand. They won the contest after Mrs. Baumann had taken her daughter to Globus to purchase Hanky Panky and happened to fill out the contest entry form at the register.
After the tour of Hanky Panky headquarters, we made sure that Mrs. Baumann would be very familiar with our products. She left with a goody bag full of Hanky Panky swag and now she is in love with the Retro V-kini.
