Hanky Panky recently held our first ever Merchandiser Summit. We invited our merchandisers from all over the country to visit our home office. Once everyone arrived in New York, we whisked them away to our Glam Guru’s apartment for a welcome party. Everyone bonded quickly over cranberry bellinis and snacks. We took some great pictures of the team, including this one of them getting into the New York spirit.
The following morning, the team took a tour of our warehouse and one of our production facilities in Queens. There, they saw firsthand how step-by-step, our fabric is cut, garments are sewn, packed, and eventually sent off to our retailers.
Afterward, we brought them back to our office in Manhattan to see our showroom. We talked business and showed them our Spring and Summer 2012 collections.
Then it was time to hear about how it all started—from Gale Epstein and Lida Orzeck themselves! Afterward, Gale and Lida guided the team on a tour of the home office—and even gave them a sneak peek at what the design team is working on for future seasons! We ended our day at Carmine’s Restaurant on the Upper West Side for an Italian feast.
The last day of the Summit was about store visits. We took the team to see our displays at Lord & Taylor on Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale’s on 59th Street. Along the way, everyone marveled at the amazing window displays in all the stores along Fifth Avenue. We stopped at Rockefeller Center to see the tree, and took this photo of the team.
