Three cheers for our newest Pep Squad member, Amy from the University of Georgia! She will bring us monthly blog posts, Facebook content and tweets straight from the UGA campus. Want to know more about Amy? Read more with this fun Q&A.
Hometown: Marietta, Georgia. I lived in Florida until I was 13 years old but my heart is in Georgia.
What school do you attend: The University of Georgia because there ain’t nothin’ finer in the land.
Favorite spot on campus: Lamar Dodd Art Building. Unfortunately, I’m not as artistic as I wish I could be, so I like to hang out around the art building hoping talent will rub off on me. The court yards are great for a beautiful day outside and the constantly changing galleries inside provide for a great escape from a stressful school day.
What year are you: Junior
What’s your major: Fashion Merchandising, Global Soft Goods Merchandising and Manufacturing Emphasis
Campus involvement: I’m a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority, The Agency, Show With A Bulldawg, and Greek Ambassadors Program
Style must-haves: Hanky Panky low-rise thongs, Hanky Panky Bralettes, and a great over-sized sweater. My style is hugely centered around comfort and nothing’s better than some skinnies and a chunky sweater with some lace innerwear.
Campus leadership: I am currently Sigma Kappa’s Executive Vice President and I am a founding member and Vice President of The Agency. The Agency is the first and only in-house modeling agency here at UGA, our goal is to expand the portfolio of everyone interested in the fashion industry no matter your interest: modeling, photography, hair and make up, styling, event planning, fashion show production, or a little bit of everything.
Where are you most likely to find me in Athens: Eating. Athens has amazing restaurants and it’s my goal to go to every single one before I graduate. Whether it’s a well known hot spot downtown or a secret spot hidden within the residential area of Prince Street, you’re likely to find me enjoying the tastes of Athens culture.
Fun fact about me: Sarcasm is my first language and I have a very dry and quirky sense of humor. I also love cheese.
Describe your style: Thrift store chic. I love finding unique pieces from thrift or vintage stores and pairing them with something more modern and unexpected.
Favorite TV Shows: Glee, Grey’s Anatomy, and How I Met Your Mother
Favorite Movie: The Lion King
