Cotton and Sustainability

Hanky Panky President & Creative director Gale Epstein discusses sustainabilityIt’s important for fashion and clothing companies to think through the consequences of their supply chain’s effects on the environment and human safety. More consumers are taking notice and are willing to spend a bit more for ethically and sustainably made clothing.

Cotton is a classic fiber that fits into all lifestyles—in underwear as well as sportswear. Nothing feels so friendly and cool as cotton. But, cotton farming typically uses large doses of pesticides, negatively impacting both the environment and our health. By popular demand, a growing number of farmers in the USA are cultivating crops without chemical fertilizers and pesticides, achieving successful yields and superior quality.

Look for American-grown organic cotton, like Hanky Panky’s Cotton With a Conscience® collection and know you’ll be making a difference.
