Inspiration Behind the Print: Chloe

Zoom in on Chloe, a new Hanky Panky print for Fall 2015.

Chloe, Hanky Panky’s latest print for Fall 2015, is a modern take on vintage “big bloom” floral prints. Pale peach anemone blossoms and jagged, lavender-gray leaves give the print its feminine yet edgy look. Printed on our Signature and Retro laces, Chloe has the look of a watercolor and ink etching.

Hanky Panky’s design team looks at hundreds of possible prints each season. Choosing the ten or so that will make it to production generally occasions a lot of debate around the design table, but once in a while there’s a print that everyone loves at first sight. “We really liked this print because it looks hand-drawn and unique,” said Anna, an assistant designer.

Hanky Panky’s print collections are always a limited run, and, generally, a print is available in four to six styles. Our unequivocal enthusiasm for Chloe is clear in the number of styles in the collection: a whopping nine. For the Chloe-lover, this is an opportunity to get multiple looks or lingerie “sets” from just a few purchases.

For example, if, like many Hanky Panky staffers, you are a fan of our Retro Bralette, whose extra spandex and seamed construction give the girls a little extra lift, pair the Chloe Retro Bralette with the Chloe Retro Thong or Chloe Retro V-Kini for an Old Hollywood glam look, and the Chloe Low Rise Thong or Chloe Boyshort for a more playful look. One bra + two bottoms = two sets.  Not bad for wearable art, huh?
